Sun 18 Dec Slept in (once we eventually managed to get to sleep each time we were woken up). Chris said he had not been woken by the traffic at all! Once awake, he enjoyed watching the proceedings out the window near his bed. After morning tea, Michael, Matthew and I got some tourist brochures from the station. There were huge queues at the machines and ticket booths. Then we walked to Angel Islington where we found a market. Bought some coat hangers, a chopping board, can opener and glass casserole dish to make life in the kitchen easier.
After lunch I went to buy our ‘Oyster cards’ (transport cards). I had already ordered Chris’s card with photo ID online as children get cheap transport. We went to Piccadilly to the Information Centre (more brochures), had a wander around the souvenir shops and then came back. Forgot to mention – no TV! Who would have thought? But there is free internet which is much more important. We watched old British TV clips on YouTube.
